Request to withdraw outdated tqsg translated version
by Noriko Mizumoto
Hi Paul and docs team
As you already noticed, we translators aggressively have started
translation of TQSG. However there are several languages which have not
been yet completed their update. For example, clicking 'Japanese'
results showing old version, but new translator may not know that it is old.
http://docs.fedoraproject.org/translation-quick-start-guide/
So could you kindly withdraw old version from the above tentatively till
fully updated translation is committed?
Thanks
noriko

Translation Quick Start Guide is now up-to-date
by Noriko Mizumoto
Hi
As subject, after Paul from docs team put tremendous effort to correct
inappropriate style and bad English for me, now this guide is latest to
include correct information, Version 0.3.9 (2007-11-14).
http://docs.fedoraproject.org/translation-quick-start-guide/en_US/
Now you can point this guide for anyone who just join and look for where
to start. Since the guide should be reader friendly and must include all
necessary information, please submit a bug when you find anything
missing and/or anything wrong.
Thanks again to Paul and everyone who supported this task!!
cheers
noriko

system-config-printer trunk added
by Tim Waugh
I've enabled translation statistics for system-config-printer trunk.
This is for the code that will make its way into Fedora 9.

Summary: transifex for system-config-printer
Product: Fedora Localization
Version: unspecified

OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: low
Priority: low
Component: l10n-requests
AssignedTo: dimitris(a)glezos.com
ReportedBy: twaugh(a)redhat.com

CC: fedora-trans-list(a)redhat.com
Currently transifex is set up to provide translations for the 0.7.74.x branch.
I would like to either add the ability to provide translations for the trunk, or
else switch from the branch to the trunk.

The Current Sign-up system
by Ronald
I have just successfully signed up to the translation system. But some
tasks didn't quite work as expected:
Step 3 shows a link:
http://i18n.redhat.com/cgi-bin/i18n-signup
All e-mail addresses are rejected :(
Step 4 wants you to install cvs:
su -c 'yum install cvs'
But rsh is required too to make CVS work. However, it's not a dependency.
Then I'm asked to do a checkout of CVS. But this is the response:
cvs.fedoraproject.org: Connection timed out
cvs [checkout aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages
if any)
Thanks in advance, Ronald

cvsl10n vs cvsdocs
by Bart Couvreur
Hi all,
As a lot of you know, we as translators have access to the documentation
cvs.
Now, a lot of translators are member of cvsdocs. But you maybe not need
that: if you're not working on the original docs, you don't need that.
Having cvsl10n group membership is enough: you get all access to /po
directories and files.
So should we revoke everyone just translating from cvsdocs and add them
to cvsl10n (if you're not in there yet).
Thoughts, suggestions?
Bart
