Dear translators,
the unique Fedora translation platform is now
https://translate.fedoraproject.org
the old translation platform is now disabled (https://fedora.zanata.org
will soon redirect you to Fedora wiki)
We had 116 projects in Zanata:
* 30 did not require migration (obsolete or tests)
* 11 are unconfirmed, I don't know, most probably dead projects.
* 75 were active.
On these 75 projects, 63 were successfully migrated.
Remaining projects did not respond on time or did not confirm everything
worked fine.
From the day we started with Weblate, here are the changes:
* Weblate can now open Pull Requests for any Gitlab platform (ping
Pulseaudio friends)
* Weblate can now open Pull Requests for Pagure (still a little bit
buggy, but bugs are quickly fixed)
I think we started with Weblate 3.9, it means we had about 23 upgrades,
and as far as I know, close to zero down time.
Kind remember: as long as the project is open-source, it can be hosted
by the Fedora project. Just open a ticket there:
https://pagure.io/fedora-l10n/tickets
In terms of stats, we now have:
* 106 projects containing 2882 translations files (fedora-docs is 80% of
the translation files)
* 116 languages by 444 contributors
* since the begining, 278 212 translations were made (a new translation
or a correction of an existing translation)
For more numbers, visit https://translate.fedoraproject.org/stats/ and
https://translate.fedoraproject.org/#reports
A big thank you to each contributor who helped in this migration, I
include in this translators, projects maintainers and Michal Cihar (the
weblate dev who answers Fedora requests).
A big thank you to the Fedora council for accepting to pay for this
tool.
A big thank you for the Zanata devs, we were happily using it for a
while, as a translators, its translation memory were awesome!

Dear translators,
first of all, for those following the Gregorian calendar, I wish an
happy new year, with hope that you'll all continue to be proud of all
you do for free software and your language!
All the work each of you is quietly doing all over the internet to
translate software is reaching end users and enabling them to use free
software. Even if there isn't much way for them to thank you, they do
enjoy it.
The internationalization of Fedora documentation system was broken since
November 12th 2020.
Action needed: many strings are now to review, for example for Council
documentation
https://translate.fedoraproject.org/projects/fedora-docs-l10n-council/#lang…
Two causes:
* for inclusion motivation, Fedora slowly move from "master" to "main"
for default git branch.
* moved or removed documentation page were not deleted by our scripts,
which resulted in conflicts (Antora stopping in case of duplicate pages).
Fixing the pipeline takes quite a lot of time, there is a few scripts
involved and fixing/validating results is slow.
The impact:
* Many strings are now to review, Weblate detected similarities and
suggest you to reuse previous translation. To find them: open the
language pages, select your language and sort project per suggestion or
name: https://translate.fedoraproject.org/languages/
* The amount total number of words to translate was reduced by 50 000
words (with a total of 2 218 852)
* The amount of pages reduced from 2335 to 2172.
Current ranking, congratulation to Indonesian translators :)

Please note there is still a few components to create:
diversity-inclusion-events, diversity-inclusion-outreachy,
diversity-inclusion-roles, diversity-inclusion-survey, fedora-coreos and i3.
I'll try to automate this creation, so this may take time. Please ping
me if you want to translate these soon.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Baptiste
