Our documentation building process requires an additional file "rpm-info.xml" that contains metadata about the document, such as revision history, title, authors, etc. The way things stand now, translators should edit this file directly, adding translations like: <translation lang="en"> <title>Example Tutorial</title> <desc>How we do it</desc> </translation> <translation lang="de"> <title>Beispieltutorial</title> <desc>Data data data...</desc> </translation> I am just now learning how translation works, thanks to Manuel Ospina's Translation Quick Start Guide. Would it be easier for translators if we moved to using "rpm-info-en.xml", "rpm-info-de.xml", etc.? Comments welcome. -- Paul W. printconf string/#108

Hi, Came across a reference to a page size reference in Printconf which says "Quatro" [printconf/string# 108]. Looks like that a term describing page size is "Quarto". [http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=quarto] Is this a bug or the existing term correct in any way? tia Runa

Typo in Translation Quick Start Guide

Hi Korean community member has spotted one typo in the Translation Quick Start Guide. http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/translation-quick-start-guide/sn_translating_… In the page, |export CVSROOT=:ext:/|username|/@i18.redhat.com:/usr/local/CVS i18 should be i18n. I guess this is an important typo to fix. | Cheers, Michelle

buggy line in system-config-packages

Hi, I found a line in the .po file for system-config-packages that still refers to "redhat-config-packages" command. Not sure if this is correct or not. tia Runa ----------------------------------------------------------------- line# 105 The file \"%s\" is a source RPM which cannot be installed with redhat-config- packages.

Some module changes for FC5

This is a heads-up that there's some changes in what needs to be translated for FC-5 in the realm of anaconda and package tools The anaconda-help module has been retired. We no longer show help in the installer, so the package no longer exists. system-config-packages has been replaced with pirut. Unfortunately, this is likely to continue changing after the string freeze at test2 just because there hasn't quite been time to get everything in order :/ Luckily, it should be a pretty minimal number of strings. Sorry for the lateness of the notice and the fact that there are still some changes outstanding, but we're just trying to cram as much as we possibly can into FC5 :-) Jeremy

Hi! Translating initscripts, I found this: #: /etc/rc.d/init.d/diskdump:250 msgid "Saving panic dump from swap partition:\r" My texttools complain that "internationalized messages should not contain the `\r' escape sequence". Should I file a bug, or do you think this is intentional?
