Hello,
I am new to fedora, and was looking for an activity to help the project. I figured out with some help that I could translate some of your docs into French. I started on web translate, and wonder what to do next to have the changes validated.
I have started to suggest translations in French, and I would like to be put in contact with the francophone coordinator, if such a person exist in Fedora.
Also I would like to know if there is a policy concerning the use of inclusive language in French. I have opened a diversity ticket here https://pagure.io/fedora-diversity/issue/204
I am also looking for the translation project and translation guidelines !
Warm regards,
Nattes
Hi all,
Weblate supports many machine translation services, most nonfree software
which would go against Fedora philosophy. However, LibreTranslate [1][2] is
a free and open source machine translation service which is supported as of
Weblate 4.7.1.[3] It could even be hosted locally in Fedora servers.
Adding such machine translation service would be also to kick off the
translation, easing the translation task to correctly adjust the words to
the context.
How about considering enabling it on Fedora Weblate?

Hi all,
We currently have an issue on translated strings that prevent
getfedora.org to be build.
Those strings has been fixed by me ( ie.
https://translate.fedoraproject.org/translate/fedora-websites/getfedoraorg/…,
the python tag %{learnmorelink} was renamed to %{link} ) but are not yet
pushed to the pagure repository.
If someone with required Weblate rights could trigger a merge of the
getfedora component, that would be wonderful.
Hi all,
I'm upstream of system-config-printer project on github, which has
translations hosted on Fedora Weblate (Jean Baptiste was kind to set up
the project in Fedora weblate for me several years ago).
Unfortunately I have a merging issue on the project - I've followed the
steps on Fedora Weblate [1] and Weblate FAQ [2], but still I cannot
unlock the translations - it seems I don't have permissions on the
project to run 'wlc' operations - I cannot do 'wlc commit', 'wlc lock',
'wlc unlock' or 'wlc push'.
For example, 'wlc pull':
Error: You do not have permission to perform this action.
'wlc unlock':
Error: This command is supported only at component level.
The steps don't mention where I should be when I issue these commands -
I expect I should be in the directory, where github project is cloned
and weblate project is added as remote repository there.
I've tried to push the changes even via 'git push' directly to s-c-p
weblate project, but it ends with error:
$ git push weblate master
fatal: unable to access
'https://translate.fedoraproject.org/git/system-config-printer/master/':
The requested URL returned error: 403
Would anyone mind helping me to unlock the project? And giving me
permissions to use wlc and push the changes into s-c-p weblate project?
Thank you in advance!
Zdenek
