Dear Sir/Madam, I'd like to contribute to the Burmese translation of the Fedora Project. I'd like to know if there are any restrictions/qualifications on that. Serbian translation script addition request

Dear translation maintainers, the Serbian translation team would like to request an addition of another script for our translation. Both cyrillic and latin scripts are in widespread use with Serbian speakers and we would like to support both, with cyrillic being the official script, and therefore the default one. We therefore need to add sr(a)Latn.po files to the CVS tree asap (hopefully to appear in FC5test2). Can I just create them and add them through my CVS client, or would RH translation maintainers have to do anything special? (I don't think we need a separate statistics and status page on i18n.redhat.com as we are only maintaining the cyrillic translation, with the latin one being generated by a script.) small piece of release notes we could translate

I forgot to ask for this (small) file to be translated. Visit http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/release-notes/ to view the latest release notes for Fedora Core 5 test1. It is this file in CVS: cvs.fedora.redhat.com:/cvs/docs/docs-common/common/legalnotice-relnotes-en.xml Although it is called 'legalnotice' it does not have any legal language. It is a pointer file. The [Tip] is important users. It directs users to a URL that has updated release notes. I've put the file at this URL: http://people.redhat.com/kwade/fedora-docs/legalnotice-relnotes-en.xml If any project is able to get this file translated in the next day, please send it directly to me, and I'll try to get it included in the translated test1 release notes. wow, release notes

This morning I came in to run the final build of the test1 release notes. It is beautiful. Five languages in one CVS with one Makefile to rule them all. And this was done the hard way! Imagine when we integrate the documentation XML into the same workbench system that is used for translating the strings in Fedora applications. Thanks to all involved for your help. I'll send a proper announcement and appreciation to the test list following the release of test1. You'll notice that the content is the same across the original English and the translated release notes (Italian, Japanese, Russian, and Simplified Chinese). To do this, we had to freeze the content and give it time to be translated. An updated release notes with content that is currently in the Wiki *will be* available when test1 is released. Once I have tagged this content in CVS, it will freeze again for a while. If anyone wants to update their translation, you can do so during that freeze. I will see that the updated version is posted to http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/release-notes/ as soon as possible. getting acces to other languages' translations

How can I get access to other languages' translations from the cvs? I tried both the language in questions status pages, and also I tried to checkout via cvs the .po file I wanted, but I could not. The thing is that the Swedes have been active in translation and I can use that for my Danish translation, as Swedish and Danish are closely related languages. best regards keld
