Translator role approval problem

Hi, All, a new translator (Alexander Felda, user name *afeld*) tries to become a translator for Russian group. He successfully performed all necessary steps as described in https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/L10N/Guide to join the group, but still cannot get access to translations. Now he is present in Fedora Translators Group (cvsl10n) member list as *afeld*, there is no sponsor, status is unapproved and role jusst a user. Translation of iputils

Hi, The iputils package [1] is set of small useful utilities for Linux networking. These tools are included in iputils arping clockdiff ninfod ping rarpd rdisc tftpd tracepath traceroute6 After consulting with its developers, I have decided to add the translation to Fedora Weblate [2]. Translating Fedora docs URLs

Hi all, Fedora docs' source strings have URLs to doc pages in /en-US/ language. For me it is surely better to change it to my language, but such translated versions haven't been published yet. I could use change e.g. /en-US/ to /pt-BR/, but I wouldn't be able to test it. Right now, trying to access the translated version gives me a 404 Not Found page. Example URLs: - Good: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/council/policies - 404: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/pt-BR/council/policies - 404: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/council/policies Is there a general URL format that deals with language content, allowing me to not specify the language in the doc page URL? Anaconda: call for translators

Hi, On regard of the Anaconda team I'm sending following call. Michal """ Hello everyone from our great translators community! I would like to kindly ask you to help us with translations and fixes of translations of the Anaconda project[0] (OS installer). The main reason why we need your help is that we did a plenty of code changes recently (one or two Fedora's back). Right now we have plenty of translations which are not consistent. Some of the major changes we did are, switching Anaconda to modularity (plenty of code reviews), and using different string formatting method giving us better control over these strings (change from %s to {}). Some of the languages which need your help: Afrikaans - Strings with any failing checks — 4,112 words Czech - Strings with any failing checks — 5,565 words Danish - Strings with any failing checks — 3,453 words Japanese - Strings with any failing checks — 3,317 words Korean - Strings with any failing checks — 2,487 words Portuguese (Brazil) - Strings with any failing checks — 2,254 words Russian - Strings with any failing checks — 2,045 words Serbian - Strings with any failing checks — 1,822 words There are also plenty of translations missing from the newly implemented stuff so feel free to take any language you want. Proposal: Fedora G11N Steering Committee

Hi All, I am sure, most of the people working with Fedora I18N, L10N from 5-6 year must be aware regarding Fedora L10N Steering Committee. [1] As far as i know this committee was active around 2009 and very effective. During Fedora G11N activity day discussions, we again felt there is need for some kind of official committee to drive Fedora Globalization activities. Fedora is growing faster with number of different domains and G11N also need to adapt those changes quickly to remain on the track. For this purpose and in line with [1], we were thinking of Fedora Globalization steering committee. I have created initial proposal for it. [2] Its open for feedback, please feel free to share other active members, discuss in your respective language groups. This is just initial proposal and i am sure, we can improve and make it more effective with active participation. Changing language at docs.fedoraproject.org

Hello, probably this should go somewhere else, but i'm new here and don't know where. While documentation is translatable and is translated on translate.fedoraproject.org it doesn't show itself in docs. As in I cannot change language to anything but en-US. What's wrong or what I'm doing wrong? Thanks Kakiremora
