Dear translation teams,
thanks to the work of the website team, the new getfedora is live: https://getfedora.org if you want to translate it: https://fedora.zanata.org/iteration/view/fedora-web/getfedora.org-redesign/ if you notice any issues: https://pagure.io/fedora-web/websites/issues
I assume the translation publication rhythm still is once a day, I'll ask website to confirm this
have a nice day, Jean-Baptiste
Hi,
I translated most of it to Czech language, the only string I didn't translated contains some legal stuff. I'm not that confident to translate it. If there is someone in Czech translation team, who has some experience with this, please translate it.

I also noticed two untranslatable strings:
1) Title in editions menu 2) Fedora ALT DOWNLOADS on bottom of the page

I think that's fine to translate it in local language so people understand it. If that's an issue for anyone, ask the website team to add the appropriate sentence saying only the english content has legal value, or add the sentence in your translation.
About other bugs, please open issues there: https://pagure.io/fedora-web/websites/issues and do not hesitate to add me in cc (@jibecfed)

It's not that simple in Czech language, according to our law only the Czech version is legally valid for our citizens.

Legal text should generally not be translated without approval from Fedora Legal.

Any rule for which we all understand the reasons is fine, so I asked for explicit position from Legal team: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/legal@lists.fedoraproject.org/...
I assume this already have been discussed in the past and will be a good opportunity to remind us about what we should do and document it there: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Legal:Main
Did you get any response from legal team?

Nope, but this page: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Legal:Main?rd=Legal lead me to: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Archive:FedoraLegalIssues lead me to search far in the Legal mailing lsit archive to find this post from July 2008: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/legal@lists.fedoraproject.org/...
and today, on IRC, dowdle told me: "From that post you linked to, to me it means... translated legalese into other languages... invalidates it.".
Which probably means that we should not translate it (crazy world). I'll come back on the matter once Legal team answer my question.
GNU Project handles this in an interesting way (IMHO): they won't recognize translations of their licenses as official and having legal value, but they MAY link the unofficial translations with the intent of helping users to understand the license' content, provided that the translated license meets some conditions, like stating it is an unofficial translation and only the English translation has legal value. More info in https://www.gnu.org/licenses/translations.html
Maybe something similar (e.g. saying the translation is just for helping understanding, but only English version has legal value) could be used.
Cheers, Rafael Fontenelle

Hello Syahmin,
thank you for your message and to keep trying joining us! Sorry it is so complicated :/
According to this page: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/L10N_Teams
Coordinators for Indonesian are: . Dapid Candra (dapidc) . Herwono W Wijaya (herwonowr)
Please send again a message to trans-id@lists.fedoraproject.org and add them in CC to increase the chances of an answer. If nobody answers in a week, please tell us here again, and we'll give you the right to translate. If nobody answers in several weeks, we'll promote you as a coordinator to make sure the Indonesian team can welcome new members.
Thanks for your understanding, you're welcome on IRC #fedora-i18n on freenode if you need to discuss it with me.
have a nice day! Jean-Baptiste
I'm doing the translation for traditional Chinese (zh-TW) recently, but unable to see the translated page on new website. The process is 100% done on Sunday, but I still don't see any change today.
Please help with this as well.
Thank you!
