Hello everyone,
I think it's important, particularly related to less translated or less
popular languages. I know many people who will stick to default (English)
or choose a language or localisation that is not theirs because the one
that would correspond to their language or area is deficient in one way or
another.
But I don't see any need to track people. Just using statistics, or maybe
a short survey.
Kind regards,
Silvia

The fact that we are asking the first question publicly without raising
any comment worries me.
While the answer and collected data will be interesting, the way it is
written really sounds like business oriented to me.
When I read it, I wonder: do the Fedora community really don't know about
the value of translated content to users?
I'm confused, because this doesn't reflect the discussion we had in the
past. Either with our or other i18n contributors.
The research for measuring is something I started and talked about in
Boston:

There is almost no way to measure "needs" and bias are enormous, but there
is some ways about "results" measurements.
I'm unsure we should go in the direction of user tracking like companies,
and go with conviction, as the floss contributor we are.
In the meanwhile, we can have any statistics we want about the user
impact, but even the basic statistics about our activity is missing. How
may are we and what do we do?
Hi,
