And the answer is, it is a FF setting.
open about:config page, search for "widget.disable-workspace-
management" and set it to "true".
I've never looked into it, but I did know that FF tended to restart on
the same desktop all the time. My problem is that I have several FF
windows on different desktops, so where they end up is not always
predictable. Chrome is a bit more consistent in that respect.
Works as I want it!
