Ping Rex
by Anne Wilson
Rex, some time ago you told me the best way to start gpg-agent under Fedora.
Unfortunately I can't find the message, and I have problems with agent on the
F10 netbook and the newly repaired CentOS 5.2 box. If you could tell me again
I'll make sure that it is easily found - a gpg page has been started on
userbase, so I could put it there.

Oxygen Icons package
by Sonic
I have a doubt about Oxygen icon theme package. Are the
'oxygen-icon-theme' (15MB) and 'oxygen-icon-theme-scalable' (46MB)
complementary to each other? Is it possible that one of these is
sufficient for a complete system? I didn't have the 'scalable' package,
and the 'new device notifier' didn't have any icon. I installed the
scalable package and everything's fine. Now, can I remove the
oxygen-icon-theme package so that I can save on bandwidth and time when
updating my machine.
Technically, is it not sufficient to have the scalable icon set?

kde vs. nx

nx will not work with kde. It will work with gnome.
When I start kde through nx, I can't give focus to any window. Only can hard
kill the session.

Unable to start graphical apps as root in konsole anymore
by Sebastian Vahl
Hi.
I've seen this for some time now but hadn't had the time to look deeper into
it: If I become root in konsole via su I'm not able to start graphical apps
like kwrite or s-c-* anymore. There is no output in .xsession-errors,
/var/log/messages or /var/log/secure, nor in the terminal itself. Also
"reboot" or "halt -p" are not working. Simple x-apps like xterm or xeyes are
still working fine, though.
I see this on rawhide, F10 and F9, all with KDE 4.2.2. It doesn't matter if I
use kdm or gdm, my normal user accout or a clean new one, nor a new clean
installation.
Is anyone else seeing this?

Fwd: Notice: Don't use Qt 4.5.1 with Amarok 2

Subject: Notice: Don't use Qt 4.5.1 with Amarok 2

Newsgroup: gmane.comp.kde.amarok.devel
Hi all,
just a note to spare you some frustration:
Qt 4.5.1 has a known regression in the SVG renderer component, which
makes Amarok (and many other applications) look very funny - or not so
funny, depending on your kind of humor.
The bug has been fixed today by Qt Software, so it will be fine in Qt
4.5.2, once it is released. Until then I recommend against upgrading
to Qt 4.5.1, unless you (or your distro) patch it.
Here you can read up about the problem, including a screenshot:

qt-doc.noarch
by Rex Dieter
Right now, the qt-doc pkg is pretty big, on my box ~95mb rpm and ~166mb
installed, and a lot of that is noarch (html docs), but it currently
also includes arch'd demos/examples.
I'd like to split out the arch'd content, so we can make qt-doc noarch.
But how best to do that? Simply make
qt-demos
qt-examples
subpkgs? Any other suggestions?
(Before doing anything, we'd double-check anything that currently
Requires or BuildRequires qt-doc to avoid any breakage).
