Ping Rex
by Anne Wilson
Rex, some time ago you told me the best way to start gpg-agent under Fedora.
Unfortunately I can't find the message, and I have problems with agent on the
F10 netbook and the newly repaired CentOS 5.2 box. If you could tell me again
I'll make sure that it is easily found - a gpg page has been started on
userbase, so I could put it there.

KDE4 print dialog does not have "Range" option
by Reuben D. Budiardja
Hello,
It seems that KDE4 print dialog does not have the "Range" option that was in
KDE 3.5. Under Option, Copies tab, it only has radio button for "Print all" or
"Pages from: .. to ..". This is a regression of functionality, since in KDE
3.5, I can for example set and print the pages: 1-3,5,8-11; but not in KDE4.
Is this correct or am I missing something ?
Is there bug report associated with this missing functionality ? I tried to
search but didn't find anything.
Thanks.

NetworkManager Applet goes rogue
by Anne Wilson
On my netbook (F11 updated to last night), over the last week or so I've seen
a few times the NetworkManager applet leaves the system try and parks on the
desktop. Presumably I should file a bug, but is this a NM bug or a Plasma bug?

Strigi problems (dolphin info panel)
by Martin (KDE)
Hallo
after the upgade of my F11 to kde 4.3 my dolphin info panel lost most
of the infos it showed in kde 4.2. After some mails on the kde list
and searches in the net (and not being able to get strigi running) I
decided to install soprano sesame backend which is not available from
fedora (In a fedora bugreport i read something about binary only part
or similar - is it solved?). I downloaded the src rpm from rex'
fedorapeople site, compiled and installed it and after a relogin
strigi started to run.
Now I can see additional infos in the info sidebar of dolphin. The
question is: Is sesame needed to get strigi running? I heard it is
much faster than redland tools, are there any chances to get the
sesame package available from fedora repo?

Heads up - plasma-desktop-appletsrc
by Anne Wilson
Keep an eye on the size of your plasma-desktop-appletsrc. If you do a lot of
copying, for instance, it will grow quite large. If that happens, back it up
and then edit - look for links to temporary files and containments that are
obviously concerned with copying jobs, and remove them.
Tread with care - only remove the things you are certain of. The bug is
known, and being dealt with. It's only ill-effect is to slow down the launch
of kde - so until that becomes a problem for you, you don't need to do
anything about it.

I think KDE4.3 has surpassed KDE 3.5.10 ...
by linux guy
I think that KDE 4.3 has surpassed what we had with KDE 3.5.10. I've
been running 4.3 for the past few days and its awesome.
This is the first time that I feel the KDE 4.x series has surpassed the
KDE 3.5 releases. Good work !

KMail distribution list
by Timothy Murphy
Is it possible under KMail/KAddressBook
to set up a mailman-like mailing list, say "Neighbours",
so that the To line appears as "Neighbours"
rather than the list of addresses in the mailing-list?

There was a thread more than a month ago about kdeinit4 failing to start
before one did as root a 'prelink -f /usr/bin/kdeinit4'. Well the
problem is still here. Anyone knows anything?

Ah, then it seems to be some sort of packaging issue.
[root@eb eelko]# yum install phonon-devel.i586
Loaded plugins: presto
Setting up Install Process
Package phonon-devel is obsoleted by qt-devel, trying to install
1:qt-devel-4.5.2-10.fc11.i586 instead
Package 1:qt-devel-4.5.2-10.fc11.i586 already installed and latest version
Thanks for the hint, Mark. I'll take this over the the Fedora KDE list.
