I was curious about something. KDE has its own crash handling system.
How does this community track any metrics around code stability if
upstream gets reports? Kontact has segfaulted 20 times on me today.
Each time it says it cannot generate a bug report. Abrtd does not seem
to pick up anything. Shouldn't it? How does this community track
when a recent update suddenly starts making things crash? Kontact was
fine 3 weeks ago. I updated today (3 weeks of patches) and its crashing
all the time to the point its unusable. It won't generate a bug report,
abrtd seems not to notice either.
I currently use t-bird with an nntp account pointing to gmane to read
this list and sereral others. Does kde have an nntp client program of
any sort? I don't see it as a possible new account type in kmail. Also,
search with kpackagekit yields nothing with "usenet" or "nntp" that is
EPEL 8 is getting close to being available. I think now is the time
to start talking about KDE on EPEL8 in earnest.
Who is going to do the EPEL8 KDE packages?
I am volunteering to do them, but from what I've heard, there are
several other people who want to do it as well. I don't want to
duplicate effort, or take the spotlight from others.
Maybe if there is enough people we do it as a group and/or SIG.
On the flip side, I also want them initially done quickly. If someone
is volunteering, yet they've never built a package for Fedora or EPEL
before, I'd rather I do it then pass off the maintenance to them.
Just to save time.
Profile switching shortcuts now switch the current tab’s profile instead
of opening a new tab with the other profile.
Does anybody else use profiles with the "Command" as "ssh user@ip" to
open a secure shell to a server? Still works if you use the "New Tab"
button but if you try to use a keyboard shortcut the ssh command doesn't
get run because it is not a new tab. Should have been an option at least
to turn off/on this new behaviour. :-(
Is there any way to make Firefox and other GTK (I think) applications
obey file associations set in a KDE environment? I have only KDE on my
machine and PDF files are set to open in Okular. But Firefox opens them
(when I select a file from its downloads list) using Gimp. In the past,
I vaguely remember seeing similar behaviour with some other GTK/Gnome
applications. Recently, I have started using a program called Zotero
that also has the same problem.
xdg-open foo.pdf works correctly and opens Okular.
I am not able to find a solution online.
This might be of interest to some folks?

Subject: [fedora-arm] Align the Fedora ARMv7 & AArch64 Spins offered in F31
To: Fedora List <arm(a)lists.fedoraproject.org>
We currently offer a large group of Desktop Spins for ARMv7 in Fedora.
Initially we enabled all the desktops that ship for x86_64 to bring ARMv7
to parity, but for AArch64 we took a more conservative approach and only
enabled a select few.
In preparation for Fedora 31 we would like to reduce the Spins offered
to realistically reflect what people are actually using and ensure we
aren't shipping things that don't work.
The current list of Spins:
For ARMv7 - Workstation, KDE, LXDE, LXQt, Mate, Minimal, SoaS, Server,
For AArch64 - Workstation, Minimal, Server
Proposed list for F31+:
For both ARMv7 and AArch64 - Workstation, Xfce, Minimal, Server
If there is a spin that you care about which is not included in the
proposed list and you would like to be a 'co-maintainer'- who will be
responsible for periodic testing during the development cycle and
filing bugs on issues you discover- let us know and we can add it back
If you have any other concerns, please let us know as well.

真実はいつも一つ！/ Always, there's only one truth!
I want to setup my config do the panel is always on all screens. Is
there an easy way to do this?
If I go to system settings --> Display and Monitor
I see an option to set primary display to a monitor or to "No Primary
Output" Is this the way to accomplish this?
Thanks in advance
I had screen tearing issue on vertical screens with F30.
As KDE spin uses X11 instead of Wayland, perhaps installing automatically :
by using a detection script during install so the experience can be smooth. Would it be possible ?
I didn't look if they where on the Fedora-Live media.
After installing Fedora 30 (fresh install), Korganizer crashes
(segmentation fault) on start-up. Korganizer reminder daemon is running
on the system tray. Clicking on it (or launching Korganizer from menu)
starts the application which crashes immediately (no UI comes up).
I have updated all packages and the observation persists.
Anyone else seeing this?
Somehow my kdeconnect plasmoid doesn't show notifications from my phone anymore. They are (calls/sms only) shown with regular notifications, but nothing on the plasmoid.
It works under gnome/gsconnect as expected and everything else is OK so this isn't a connection, nor phone-side config issue. I've tried to fiddle with all options, even nuked .config/kdeconnect to no avail.
Is it my setup or something has changed somewhere ? Any thoughts ?
