nntp (aka, usenet) client in kde?
by Gene Smith
I currently use t-bird with an nntp account pointing to gmane to read
this list and sereral others. Does kde have an nntp client program of
any sort? I don't see it as a possible new account type in kmail. Also,
search with kpackagekit yields nothing with "usenet" or "nntp" that is
kde specific.

SDDM doesn't unlock gnome-keyring?
by Juan Orti Alcaine
I'm testing SDDM and I've seen gnome-keyring is not unlocked when starting a
session. It works fine with KDM
Is only me, or someone else has experienced this problem? I remember to have
touch the pam configuration of kdm in the past, but sddm has its stock config.
I have this in /etc/pam.d/sddm
auth [success=done ignore=ignore default=bad] pam_selinux_permit.so
auth substack password-auth
-auth optional pam_gnome_keyring.so
-auth optional pam_mate_keyring.so
auth include postlogin
account required pam_nologin.so
account include password-auth
password include password-auth
session required pam_selinux.so close
session required pam_loginuid.so
session optional pam_console.so
-session optional pam_ck_connector.so
session required pam_selinux.so open
session optional pam_keyinit.so force revoke
session required pam_namespace.so
session include password-auth
-session optional pam_gnome_keyring.so auto_start
-session optional pam_mate_keyring.so auto_start
session include postlogin
And this in /etc/pam.d/kdm
#%PAM-1.0
auth [success=done ignore=ignore default=bad] pam_selinux_permit.so
auth required pam_env.so
auth substack system-auth
-auth optional pam_gnome_keyring.so
auth include postlogin

session required pam_selinux.so close

My "akonadi_nepomuktag_resource" is offline since KDE-4.13
by Laurent Rineau
Hi,
My system if Fedora 20, with the kde, kde-testing, and kde-unstable
repositories enabled.
In Kmail, I have virtual mail directories, under "Tags". Since the update to
KDE-4.13 (with Baloo), that "Tags" directory is marked as "Offline", and I do
not have any way of toggle it online. In the Akonadi Console, that set of
virtual directories is governed by a resource named
"akonadi_nepomuktag_resource", but I do not see which Akonadi agent is
responsible for it. Probably it is gone since the upgrade.
How can I handle that issue? That is probably a bug in the migration agent.

immediate session abort?

Whether from startx or KDM, desktop is never reached. Is this a known freshly

Update libnm-qt strangeness
by Peter G.
I just updated the computer. Scheduled for update were *both*:
1:libmm-qt-1.0.2-1.20140305git0ede8b1.fc20.x86_64
2:libnm-qt-0.9.8.2-1.201404225cff3c5.fc20.x86_64
but, after completion, I listed the installed packages and *only*:
libnm-qt-0.9.8.2-1.201404225cff3c5.fc20.x86_64
is installed!
What happened here? Why were 2 packages updated, but only 1 ended up on my
system, and it is the earlier version of the 2?
And stranger still, yum info shows that the version 1.0.2 is the one in the
updates repo and that I allegedly have it installed (which contradicts the
output of rpm -q libnm-qt).
What is going on here?

KDE asking for SIM PIN for UMTS modem although no pin is set in SIM card
by Lukas Middendorf
Hi,
I have an UMTS modem (HP un2400 Gobi Wireless Modem) in my notebook
(Fedora 20). The inserted SIM card does not have a PIN code set. Every
time the modem is activated (e.g. after resume from suspend), KDE asks
me for the "SIM PIN2" nevertheless. I can either input any 4 digit
number and click "Unlock" or click "Cancel", either way the modem works
afterwards.
Does anybody know how to get rid of this dialog, and if not, which
component should I report a bug against?
Best regards,
Lukas
