Ping Rex
by Anne Wilson
Rex, some time ago you told me the best way to start gpg-agent under Fedora.
Unfortunately I can't find the message, and I have problems with agent on the
F10 netbook and the newly repaired CentOS 5.2 box. If you could tell me again
I'll make sure that it is easily found - a gpg page has been started on
userbase, so I could put it there.

KDE4 FTP client
by Ravi
Hi,
Is there a KDE4 FTP client? As far as I can tell, the FTP kioslave from KDE3
has not been ported over to KDE4.

Thanks
by Eli Wapniarski
I just wanted to thank Jaroslav and Rex for their patience and guidance when
helping me to get kde-plasma-ihatethecashew and kde-plasma-translatoid
packaged. Both are now available in stable.

Kmail preview pane remains blank
by Ravi
Hi,
After updating my F10 system to the latest and the greatest, kmail does not
show the message body in the preview pane. However, it shows the bar which
says "No HTML Message". For multipart messages, the message tree view is also
shown (but with no text). To get the preview pane to show messages normally,
one could remove the preview pane completely (using the layout option in the
configuration dialog), and then add it back again.
Is anyone else seeing this problem? It is 100% reproducible for me on every
start of kmail. There were no responses on #kontact on IRC.

KDE does not recognize PDF anymore
by Reuben D. Budiardja
Hello,
I have a strange problem. This is Fedora 8 system with KDE-3.5. For some
reason, KDE stops recognizing PDF. The PDF icon does not show up for PDF file
on Konqueror, trying to open PDF file will ask the program I want to open it
with. Entering kpdf, kpdf will open and just say "One page document loaded",
but shows nothing on the screen although I know for sure the document is
multiple pages.
I tried launching KPdf, and try open PDF file. On the Filter, it just says
"Unknown, Postscript", it seems that even KPDF does not recognize PDF. Same
result as above when I try to actually open a known good PDF file (e.g. Evince
will open it).
I tried uninstall and install kdegraphics and still does not fix the problem. I
tried creating new clean user, removed ~/.kde, all to no avail. Very strange.
The last thing I did before this happen was that I remove AdobeReader_enu and
nsplugginwrapper because I hate that PDF always try to open Acroread inside my
Firefox. I wanted to just use KPDF as external app, and then this problem
happened. I cannot even use KPDF stand alone.
Any help is greatly appreciated, as this is practically my workstation that I
have to use.
Thanks.

Focus Problem
by Richard Heck
Using KDE 3.5.x, I had a crisis that required me to delete my .kde
directory and start from scratch. But now I've got a weird problem. If I
click in the content area of a window, the window gets raised, but not
focused. Any idea what's gone wrong?

Fwd: [Bug 177986] kaddressbook crashes when saving dist list (repeatable)
by Neal Becker
Well, apparantly the bug is _not_ fixed. The previous message I tried to
forward claimed the bug was fixed.

Sorry, but it doesn't work after all. When closing kontact, the error message
"Unable to save address book Akonadi Compatibility Resource." appears and the
saved distribution list disappears. Looks like I'm the only one suffering from
this bug. Maybe someone could help me to right direction to solve this issue,
since updating these bug reports seems to be just a waste of time. I need the
ability to send mails to lists, now I don't have that.

KMail and Kgpg not playing nicely together
by Anne Wilson
On my F10 + 4.2 install I have a very recently created public keyring. I
manually imported half a dozen signatures. Kgpg lists them, and KMail uses
them. Everything seemed fine.
KMail is set to import signatures automatically. I've seen it import quite a
few since then, and the messages report the status of the signature. However,
those signatures are not seen by Kgpg - and never show up in the key
management screen.
I've discussed this on the kde-pim list.
I've talked to a kgpg developer.
I've talked to a kmail developer.
I've asked on IRC #kontact.
No-one seems to have any idea, other than the stock 'it must be fedora' :-)
