Amarok does not stop playing
by Florian Sievert
Hi there,
I am having some strange observation here. Not sure when it actually
started as I normally quit Amarok when not using it. However, when I
choose "Stop" instead, Amarok starts to fade out the music that it it
currently playing. However after a few seconds (when it normally should
stop), it starts to play it again. I can repeat this and it just stops
when quitting the application.
I didn't find any bugs that sounds like this one. So I am asking here
for help. Running KDE on Fedora 27 (64 bit). My guts feeling is that
this might be something related to dbus and its restarted by some event
or a signal is not communicated correctly. Anyone observing this as well
or can give advisory how to debug this further?
Best regards,
Florian

Fedora27: KDE-Plasma/networkManager: Ethernet interfaces set to
100MBits/sec half duplex
by Terry Barnaby
I have just noticed that quite a few of my systems now have their
Ethernet interfaces running at 100 MBits/s half duplex rather than the
expected 1GBits/s.
I think some update has caused this to happen, probably about 10 days
ago (noticed something was slow). These are KDE/Plasma GUI systems but
I'm not sure if this is due to a change in KDE/Plasma, NetworkManager or
something else.
On these systems the KDE/Plasma NeworkManager settings GUI interface now
has an "Allow auto-negotiation" checkbox which I don't think was there
before and it looks like this is set to non-auto, 100MBit/s, half duplex
by default if there is no ETHTOOL_OPTS="autoneg on" in the
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-* file and on initial setting of a
network interface.
I guess this is a change/bug in the KDE-Plasma network manager applet.
Where should I file this bug ?

Menu-panel crashes
by Klaus Kolle
Now and then my menu-line crashes but all the applications keeps
running. I will come back when I restart the desktop.
I can call Alt-F2 to get a prompt to start a new program. I wonder which
program to call to restore my menu and system tray panel - I can't
remember the correct name for the panel with the Fedora button and all
the rest...
Is it possible to restart that panel? If, how?

Kannolo 26 and 27 releases
by Kevin Kofler
Hi,
FYI, I have made new releases of Kannolo, the pure-KDE Fedora Remix:
https://sourceforge.net/p/kannolo/news/2018/02/kannolo-27-20180203-and-26...
I am proud to announce the simultaneous release of Kannolo 26 and 27. The
first ISO for each version is now available. These releases include the
latest stable updates from the upstream distribution.
There is a version based on the upstream release 27, and a version based on
the upstream release 26, both with all updates up to 2018-02-03. Only x86_64
images are available, other architectures are not planned.
I expect most users to prefer the Kannolo 27 release, but Kannolo 26 is also
available for users specifically looking for that version.
You can find these (and eventually future) releases in the Files section:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/kannolo/files/
Announcements for respins will generally not be posted to this list, you can
find them in the News section:
https://sourceforge.net/p/kannolo/news/
Enjoy,

F26: Problem with
'/usr/lib64/qt5/plugins/kf5/parts/kjavaappletviewer.so'
by John Pilkington
I just tried to preview a .class file from projectx in F26 konqueror
with this result. Attempts to use other tools also fail, and el7 has a
similar problem. Google finds related complaints from Windows 10.
Apparently the class I hoped to examine isn't there - but that's another
story.
