Indeed I have noticed -- the login seems to have a long pause at
whatever stage 2 dots on the splash screen refers to.
Stages are defined here
/usr/share/kde4/apps/ksplash/Themes/Constantine/2048x1536/description.txt.
But I'm not sure how to read this.
