That's what the migrator does - and if you have that directory and it has vcf
file there, it's done its work. Try
http://userbase.kde.org/KAddressBook.
Check the messages in the thread "address book problems". Anne's advice
there fixed the same problem for me.
Since then, in the light of what we found, I've updated the userbase pages.
Hopefully the new version is clearer.
And please, Jan, if you want people to help, mind your manners. Insulting
