OK.... doesn't seem to be a problem with qt 4.6.0. As a matter of fact, the freeze of
the program seemed to happen faster with 4.5. So now I'm at a loss. To whom do I
report the problem? Do I report it to xorg, kde, wine, qt, nvidia or to all and cross
reference to everyone? Or can someone suggest a fulcrum that will start the appropriate
communication going to the right people?
In any case, I guess I will have to remember to turn compositing off when playing.
Thanks for any suggestions that you may be able to provide

there is a problem with the qt 4.6.9 and kwin compositing....

able to play the game across both my screens (2560x1024) without X crashing. Dunno if its
because of improvements with newer versions of NVidia driver, KDE 4.3.2 or because of qt
4.6.0. In any case. The problem is that the game freezes after awhile. Checked to make
sure there wasn't some problem because of the screen resolution and reverted back to
1280x1024 the game still froze. Then I checked if the freeze was caused by an update to
the video driver so I reverted back to an older version of the driver which I know that
the game played without freezing.. But, unfortunately the game froze again. So I
completely switched off kde desktop effects (compositing) and no more freezes.
