Different meanings.
To me,
"panel" refers to the whole bar
By "task bar", I really meant "task manager" (sorry for the botched
terminology) which is but one of the applets that runs in the panel in
addition to other stuff like, kickoff/start-menu, systray, clock, etc...
Aha, that's why Timothy couldn't move it to a different panel position (unless he
moved the whole taskbar).
