When you select the virtual desktop property you have a choice as to
what desktop it appears on. Also, I had to fool around with the
window
matching section. For the window class I have it set to substring
match
and the string I use is chrome. There's a detect windows properties
button at the bottom you can use to figure out what should work.
Thanks for that. It works partially in that I can start Konsole in the
right place but my requirements for Dolphin seem to be too complex to
be specified. I want 3 Dolphin windows on the same desktop. Two of them
have split panes. The other has a single pane but also a terminal view
(which the others don't). Plasma seems unable to handle that, though it
may just require more work to configure - you need to understand
terminology such as "Window class" etc. which I'm hazy about.
What I really want is a way to automatically restore a session (i.e.
restart my basic set of apps in the right places and with the right
default settings), but that isn't likely to happen any time soon.
