Kate sessions not listed in KRunner
by Sonic
I'm using KDE SC 4.4 Beta 1, installed with kde-unstable, kde-redhat &
kde-testing repos enabled. When I type kate in Krunner, it used to list
the Kate sessions. Now, I'm not getting that listing. I guess the
problem started with 4.4 RC.
'Kate sessions' is selected in the list of KRunner plugins.
Can anybody else confirm this please?
regards,
Syam

kde-4.3.90 (4.4 rc1)
by Rex Dieter
4.3.90 aka 4.4rc1 will be landing in kde-unstable f12 repos soonish. The
newer kdebindings/python stack required a sip update, which was/is abi
incompatible, so anything that
BuildRequires: sip-devel
needs rebuilding too. ugh. The list is not large, but unfortunately, some
of them fail to build against the newer sip too.
So, long and short... keeping "release early, release often" in mind, here
it is with some known breakage.
Stuff not rebuilt yet will complain about missing dep:
sip-api(6) >= 6.0 is needed ...
So you can choose to remove anything that still depends on that... or just
wait and hope (or preferably help with fixes!).
Enjoy.

Yawp / 4.4rc2 is completely broken. Anyone else seeing this?
by Gilboa Davara
Hello all,
I just updated my F12 machine to KDE 4.4rc2.
Since the update (that pulled
kde-plasma-yawp-0.3.2-1.fc12.kde44.x86_64), yawp no longer works.
(I get an empty gray screen with a bold text "Forecast details" and
"Supported by Accuweather" and nothing else.)
4.3 version of yawp worked just fine.
Before I report this, anyone else seeing this?
- Gilboa
P.S. I remove the yawp configuration and restarted it. Didn't help.

Taskbar issue
by Anne Wilson
(4.3.90) Yesterday I suddenly lost my taskbar. I think it happened when I had
a complete system freeze, due to dbus-daemon running wild. I used Add Widgets
to put it back onto the panel, but the style is very different from the old
one. Now every task has a framed space, with minute icons. It's actually
quite difficult to identify some of them. Is this a deliberate change, or is
it something I've done, and therefore fixable?

F12 - Gstreamer works, Xine doesn't
by Gerald B. Cox
Just upgraded to F12 and noticed some weirdness with my sound, long
story short, the Gstreamer backend appears to work fine, the Xine
doesn't. My current levels are
phonon-backend-gstreamer-4.3.80-2.fc12.x86_64
phonon-backend-xine-4.3.80-2.fc12.x86_64
phonon-4.3.80-2.fc12.x86_64
and my xine levels are:
xine-plugin-1.0.2-3.fc12.x86_64
xine-lib-extras-1.1.16.3-5.fc12.x86_64
xine-lib-extras-freeworld-1.1.16.3-2.fc12.x86_64
xine-ui-skins-0.99.5-16.fc12.noarch
xine-lib-1.1.16.3-5.fc12.x86_64
xinetd-2.3.14-28.fc12.x86_64
xine-lib-devel-1.1.16.3-5.fc12.x86_64
phonon-backend-xine-4.3.80-2.fc12.x86_64
xine-ui-0.99.5-16.fc12.x86_64
I saw that several other people were having various issues and wanted
to make sure I'm not missing something silly before I head out to
bugzilla.
Thanks!

kimono?
by Petrus de Calguarium
I install the whole kit and kaboodle (minus kdeedu), except I have never installed
kimono, because I prefer not to have mono unless I must.
Question:
KDE sans kimono : What am I missing? What won't work? What would I have, were I to
install kimono and the dreaded mono?

KMail is horrifically slow?
by Anne Wilson
Since the 4.3.85 updates I've had lots of problems with kontact. Some are now
sorted, but most obtrusive is the fact that every time I send a message I get
upwards of half a minute of 99% activity before it goes, and during that time
I can't read another message, change folder, or anything.
Is anyone else seeing this? I'm turning off signing for this one, to see
whether that makes a difference.
