Hi, I can design 2D graphics using GIMP and I also have experience with Blender. I like minimal design, and have interests in philosophy and aesthetics. I am working on a personal website, and I can imagine myself creating pixel art and working on interfaces. I was attracted to Fedora because of its excellent support of multimedia applications and its efficient interface. Let me know if there is a project for me. Brodie McPharlin

Running Blender 2.56 on Fedora 13 and 14

Hi galls and guys, I saw that there are no up to date instuctions for getting Blender 2.56 running on Fedora, not even on Blender wiki so I wrote up this blog post: http://bit.ly/gLQgFS or long version: http://kernelreloaded.blog385.com/index.php/archives/blender-2-56-on-fedora… I would like to ask you to try out these instructions and post any feedback that you have, especially if there are some errors in instructions. Also if there are some Blender artists in Fedora design team please test if all Blender functions work correctly. I saw some Blender 2.56 packages in Koji for F15, does anybody know if Blender 2.56 will ship with Fedora 15? I talked with few Blender artists that I know and asked them which version of Blender they used. They all replied that they used 2.56 and not 2.49. They all claim that Blender 2.56 is rock solid on both OSX and Windows, I don't know Blender artists that use Linux :( So if Blender 2.56 turns out to be stable could it be made to replace aging 2.45 in Fedora 14 and 15? Problems with FC versions > 9 (PAE ?)

Hi , I have the following problem : I use an Acer S series Penthium 3 , disk C 20 Gb , disk D80 Gb, RAM 512 Mb. Boatloader : Windows 2000 Prof Fedora 9-10-11-etc SCO unix 5.05 Eb First I install Windows on C 16 Mb FAT12 , 30 Gb on D. Then I install SCO Unix . Next and last I install FC. Till FC9 everything runs fine. When I do an upgrade (so FC10 etc.) all keeps running fine. When I do a fresh install (FC10 and higher , so PAE) suddenly the FAT12 file on C changes from 16 Mb to 15 Mb and I cannot boot SCO anymore . Windows runs fine. After a fresh install (FC10 and higher ,so PAE) FC has strange problems : K3B does not functionate proper , no recognation of inserted DVD´s : FS problem. I would like to solve this problem ( how do you and can you if possible install FC10 and higher without PAE) and I am very curious what are the reasons that this problem occurs. Ger van Dijck. Mizmo will bring her little HD video cam so we could shoot videos if we want. Critique for Ticket #159: Freemedia Mailer Design

Hello(s):) In October 08, 2010, I submitted a design for ticket #159. Back then, I wanted the team to critique the work. (See follow-up comment #5 at https://fedorahosted.org/design-team/ticket/159) The team was focusing on the wallpaper design for F14 at that time and so, nothing much was said about my solution. I'd like to present it again. I have included the initial mail below as it contains my thoughts on the work at that time. I look forward to your comments. INITIAL MAIL FOLLOWS:------------------------------------------------- Hello People, I have uploaded a skirmish design for ticket #159. Here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/File:Freemedia-mailer-A4-type-A.svgz#file https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/File:Freemedia-mailer-A4-type-B.svgz#file After much research on mailer regulations, I settled for a 5.25"x5.25" size mailer jacket. It might be worth it to pursue a design for a 6"x7.25" generic envelop for overprotective people ... like me (I like to add extra padding/polystyrene to project the media). I couldn't find much for European mailer regulations so I hope this is universal enough. I used Bitstream Vera Sans for Addresses taking cognizance of accepted mailer typeface (USPS). I believe the font is free from license issues. Correct me if I'm wrong. The 'Air Mail' label employs yet another open font - IM Fell Double Pica. I have two proposals, A & B. The variation lies with the Logos on the Front Side. I am not sure an "Air Mail" label placed on the right is acceptable by law -- well, my predecessor had his like that so, ... I made a version like that too. It seems better that way. However, all other reference materials I found, had it on the left which would put our lovely fedora logo out of place ... In type-B, The only place the fedora logo can fit in is between the Return Address and the Recipient's Address (Turn on 'restrictions' layer for further guidance'). Well, the front is encumbered by restrictions so I couldn't do much there. The rear allowed for some innovation but I kept it minimal as requested. I may be asking for much, but what if the Addressing was automated ... just like the Fedora Ambassadors business Cards? What if we could type a bash command and get the code to read the Freemedia Contributor's Details, fill that in, fill-in the supplied recipient from the Freemedia form dB ...and the result is the approved design bearing all that is necessary. Just print, fold, glue, stamp, and mail. How about that? The code could even do the Intelligent bar coding (that thing adds another attraction to the entire design ...you know). All details for that are contained in one of the reference materials above -- they even added the source code (at least it looked like it). Oops ... enough rambling.
