GIMP 2.7/2.8 in Fedora?

I there a way to test new GIMP 2.7/2.8 in Fedora? I looked in Rawhide repos and I still see only 2.6x versions there. Slogan needed for www.fp.o?

Currently, the filler text "Free your desktop with Fedora" is included in the mockup of the front page (1), which came from Mo and me just playing around with text to stick in the mockup we worked on in September '09. A couple questions: * Should the Marketing team come up with some text to replace that filler text in (1)? (Obviously people are welcome to participate in that discussion.) * Does the Design team want additional help with the slides seen in the mockups at (2)? -- Paul W. Release criteria discussion: artwork

Greetings design team, During F13 testing, the idea of drafting release criteria [1] around Fedora artwork surfaced. This topic came up again during F-14-Alpha as a result of bug#621027 (Graphical screen in anaconda shows F-13). The QA team could use design-team input to develop accurate release criteria around artwork availability and desktop integration. Please note, there is already Final release criteria around the desktop icons/menus. These criteria are mainly for display manager and desktop backgrounds, firstboot sidebar+banners and other release artwork. Perhaps for the Beta ... we assert that the installer must display artwork for the appropriate release under test (e.g. Fedora 14 installer cannot display Fedora 13 artwork)? Anything else to consider for the beta? Perhaps for the Final release ... we assert that the installer, firstboot, display manager (gdm, kdm), and desktop environment all use the appropriate Fedora 14 artwork. This includes banners, sidebars, backgrounds. I know there are more considerations, such as multiple background sizes. Are there additional artwork considerations for the Final release? NOTE: The above of course makes assumptions about the design-team release schedule. I'm certainly not familiar with those dates, so feedback encouraged. Hi, I just wanted to drop a note to everyone that I approved Marc's FAS membership on our team today. Not only did Marc complete the Amateur Radio SIG logo ticket (http://www.obfuscatepenguin.net/doodle/2010/08/26/fedora-amateur-radio-sig-…) but he also put together an awesome map script for fedoracommunity.org (http://img.obfuscatepenguin.net/fedora/community/rollover/3/ - I've been working on integrating it today). He's done a great job with both of these so I am sure he will be an asset to our team. Welcome, Marc! ~m

Introduction, and Amateur Radio SIG Logo

Hi! I'm trying to become more of a contributor to the wonderful world of FLOSS, and Fedora in particular. To that end, I've started learning how to package fonts, but I think I can help out here a little too. In spite of their time consumption, I enjoy trying to create animations and visual effects, which have given me some experience in Blender, the GIMP, and Inkscape that could be useful. --- Last week I noticed the Amateur Radio SIG logo request, and worked up a few quick variations on some ideas I had. https://fedorahosted.org/design-team/ticket/134 http://img.obfuscatepenguin.net/fedora/arsig-logo/ The feedback on the mailing list has been positive so I've claimed the ticket. http://lists.fedoraunity.org/pipermail/fedora-hams/2010-August/ I know the spacing is a little off, but any other criticisms/suggestions for improvement would be appreciated.
