Global Wallpaper Hunt
by S.Kemter
Hi,
Some of you might know, I did during last flock a Wallpaper Hunt, on the
end only Jared participated in the hunt itself but his picture came into
the Supplemental Wallpaper package.
I wanted to do this also on FUDCon Pune this year but Kushal as local had
no time, I hope it becomes always part of our events.
But this time I want to do also another thing, in a few weeks I have to
open the submission phase for F24 supplemental wallpaper.
For me this "contest" is a method to finding more contributors and thats
what I want to do this time more offensive, the idea is to call in for a
"Global Wallpaper Hunt".
Here is what we need to do:
* encourage our Ambassadors to serve as local contact for the people get
together and going with them to nice places in their area (we can help them
locating them and finding the right time)
* I give them my slides from flock, what good wallpapers are and what we
are looking for.
*we produce a nice row of video tutorials for Darktable, Gimp and now also
important Hugin
would you be in, in this? What you think about the idea

logo usage
by Karoly Livius Bakos
Hey,
I joined not too long ago to the design team. According to the suggestions
at wiki I
am trying to address a request at design service queue namely the ticket
#414 a
banner for the italian fedora user community website. They requested a
logo/banner
that is compilant with the fedora guidelines.
I would like you to provide some feedback on my design in terms of
iguidelines compability.
Also any suggestions are welocome, however it is only the very initial idea
to start the
coversation with the recipient.
Thanks a lot
Karoly
PS. I attached a png file however I am not sure that it will be deliverd
through the mailing list.
In case if not you can find the stuff here:

Article on Fedora Magazine
by Sylvia Sánchez
Hello all!
I'm going to write some articles on Fedora Magazine about the
programmes I use to design. The first one is going to be about Gimp.
Is there any point or issues you'd like to suggest for the article?
I'd like to make it as complete and polished as possible.
Cheers and thanks,
Sylvia

GIMP 2.9.2 in COPR
by Nils Philippsen
Hello everybody,
nobody can say right now when GIMP 2.10 will be released, but the past
weeks have seen the first development release which interestingly
enough is called 2.9.2. I'm sure you're all fired up for exciting new
features like:
- Higher color depths
- On-canvas preview for many filters
- Higher-quality downscaling
- Many new, updated and even experimental tools
- And much more, see:
http://www.gimp.org/news/2015/11/27/gimp-2-9-2-released/
I've packaged it in COPR, to install it, do this (as root):
dnf copr enable nphilipp/gimp-unstable
dnf install gimp-unstable gimp-unstable-help-browser
It comes with a nice drawback, too: In order to coexist with the stable
version of GIMP, I had to put it into a separate prefix, /opt/gimp-2.9.
That means that to use any packaged 3rd party plugins, you must symlink
them from the stable plugin folder /usr/lib64/gimp/2.0/plug-ins (or
/usr/lib/... on 32bit) to where the unstable version finds it, i.e.
/opt/gimp-2.9/lib64/gimp/2.0/plug-ins (or .../lib/...).
Have fun with it, and as always with unstable software: save early,
save often.
Please add me to Cc if you respond as I'm not subscribed to the list.
Cheers,
Nils
