Hi Mathieu,
I know you don't like fb. ;)
This has nothing to do with my personal preference.
IMHO this is yet another case of "Should we be good using evil
tools
(value varies)?"
Not as far as I am concerned.
I am personally open to any options that benefit our community, and
open to actions of abandoning that once its harm is bigger than its
purpose.
Me too.
Facebook is the most popular online communication platform in
Greater
China (except China), whereas there are other media that China OSS
community had been using.
We surely shouldn't rely that as primary communication mean, but we
need it, needn't we?
It seems we completely agree then.
Please note how I emphasized the word "primary" in my original email.
However, your initial statement contained the following:
This group is the first and will be the main contact platform
on facebook for Fedora users who uses Chinese language.
Reading it again, it seems I might have understood it wrong (and
probably so did Christopher), so in the interest of avoiding any future
ambiguity, did you mean that:
1. when it comes to the Chinese community, this Facebook group will be
the main forum for communications, or
2. when it comes to the Chinese community, this Facebook group will be
the main forum for the communications happening on Facebook and only for
them, but this will not be the main forum in absolute (there is/will be
an accessible forum which is/will be the primary one)
I have to admit I understood the former. If this is indeed the intent, I
think we have a problem.
However, if I was wrong, and the intent is the latter, then I am happily
moving out of this thread. :)
Cheers,
