I have 100k+ emails, because I want to have them! I do not want to
have to login to some obscure site, which half the time will not be accessible to me,
especially when flying places, or when reception is bad on wireless communication systems.
Email is there, is readily at hand for me, is available on all my devices, thanks to imap
and options to download full messages.
You mean this site?
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/ambassadors
A forum cannot do that! Also, from an infrastructure point of view,
all that needs to be extra maintained is mailman, which is not exactly demanding from an
admin point of view. A forum would be spammed to death, and would have many other issues.
We have a wiki, that needs constant maintenance by everyone.
Yes it can. You can subscribe to threads on any forum software and receive instant email
updates.
And as I said, nobody is forcing you to receive mailing lists. If you
do not care about staying informed, then don't be.
But in terms of being an
ambassador, with the deepest respect, you should then ask yourself if you really should be
one in the first place, as you probably don't care enough.
I ignored this statement the first time you made it for a reason. Please don't use
that argument against me. I know what I signed up for.
I'm trying to offer a better solution than Facebook groups/G+
You're not being constructive.
Thanks,
Dan

So you admit you have 100k+ emails that could easily be organized, archived and backed up
by a forum.
Thanks,

I believe they invented the delete button a few years ago. Maybe you should see, if you
have that technological marvel, but then I have 100K+ emails in my inbox, and use folders
with filters, which works fine for me, so I am a bit ignorant with regards to various
buttons and their functions.
And just to clarify, I was being sarcastic above, with regards to the delete button.
