I went to USENIX LISA18 to help with the combined Red Hat/Fedora/CentOS
booth on October 29-30. Jen Madriaga from Red Hat graciously provided me
with a conference pass so I could also attend talks at LISA. I attended
several talks on Wednesday. This was a great event, although it is really
difficult for me to judge the impact of LISA this year, since most all the
questions we got at our booth were regarding the announcement about IBM
acquiring Red Hat. We did talk to a few people who were interested in
starting to use Fedora, and we gave out some flash drives with Fedora 29
loaded on them, thanks to mattdm. I believe LISA is a great event for
Fedora to attend, and I think we would have reached more people, had it not
been for the recent announcement that everyone was concerned about, which
kind of overshadowed most of their other questions.
