Hi,
Thank you for this info, I'm planning several short presentations about
Fedora Project at the University of Galati, Romania, and I did not know from
where / how to get Fedora 11 CDs / DVDs.

Drupalistas: Call for participation on Fedora Insight
by Pascal Calarco
Hi Fedora Ambassadors --
Do you have intermediate to advanced Drupal 6 skills, and some time to
apply these to benefit the Fedora community? Would you be interested in
leveraging these to help spread the word about Fedora?
If so, then we have a great opportunity for you!
Fedora Insight[1] is a content portal for aggregated news, views, and
events about the Fedora Project that a multi-faceted team has been
working on over the last while. The vision is to build a rich, dynamic
one-stop place to get the latest news on Fedora. The first content
we're incorporating is Fedora Weekly News[2], and we're in the midst of
themeing the site as well as creating new Views for FWN issues. Come
join us! We meet Thursdays on irc.freenode.net
If you are interested, please join the Fedora logistics list[3], and
introduce yourself to the team! We've also started a new Fedora Project
Drupal group[4] for more recruitment, so join us there too, once it has
been approved by the moderators there! Thanks so much!

Fedora 15 Ambassadors Schedule
by Pierros Papadeas
Hello all,
We did the test last release, but things went not as planned. We tried
to enforce a Schedule for Ambassador Specific activities in sync with
the release of Fedora 14, but most of the tasks were not pursued in
time. It is not time to point fingers so lets look for Fedora 15
Schedule of Ambassadors!
This time FAmSCo (and personally I , as chair) takes full
responsibility of making sure the schedule will be followed as
planned. After the election of the current FAmSCo (November - December
2010) we did a review [1] of the draft schedule from J.Poelstra (our
previous schedule wrangler) and with help of Robyn Bergeron (our
beloved current schedule wrangler) we updated it to meet Ambassador
specific needs.
Also we have new naming of the tasks to help us understand the owner
of task more easily (it was a problem on the old one).
Who will enforce it?
FAmSCo will make sure the owners of each task have whatever they need
to make the action.
How will we report back and review schedule?
The Schedule will be part of our weekly FAmSCo calls so feel free to
drop by to raise an issue. If this is not possible raise the issue on
the mailing list of Ambassadors.
Is the schedule flexible?
We are human beings and sometimes we cannot meet some deadlines :)
This is totally understandable and FAmSCo will be there to help out,
and in extreme cases reform schedule to meet some updated needs.
Is this the final form of the schedule?
Although we tried to deliver a schedule that took into consideration
all of our needs, we understand that the schedule will need some
reform and fine tuning for our next release (e.g. Fedora 16). After
the Fedora 15 release is over we will gather all available feedback
and discuss it to make the appropriate adaptions.
Where is the Schedule anyway?
The schedule can be found here [2] along with the rest of the Fedora
15 schedules
Is this schedule describing all Ambassadors Tasks?
Of course not! This schedule is only for release-specific Ambassador
tasks (i.e. tasks like Release Parties, media production etc). Feel
free to host events and make action out of the schedule as always! But
if your actions are release-specific please help us meet the
guidelines.
Feel free to comment (as always) and step up on specific regional
tasks. I will post and nudge on the mailing list towards the adherence
to the schedule :)

Idea for a documentary
by Paul RJ Mellors
Hello All
I've had an idea......
You may have seen the linux movie "Revolution OS" or the documentaries
of Michael Moore, but as far as i'm aware, there has never been a
documentary highlighting the history of the Fedora operating system,
from the cores to the current implimentation [f14 and f15 alpha at
time of writing]. With the help of people all around the world, i hope
to achieve this.
I've setup an ideas page here -
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Documentary
Do you want to get involved? Do you have an idea that will make this
project pop? Add it to the page.
I've done nothing other that write the wiki page, so nothing is
planned or set in stone, i'd just like ideas/feedback etc.
This could be cool :)
Cheers

@jsimon: Don't know What to say, speechless...
Wrong technical advice? is this because of the discussion
with that "Cristoph" guy? Oh!, never tought there were this kind of
intolerant people inside the Linux Communities Ecosystem...
Did you read all the Mails?
First of all, the technical advise I give to people is always tested first
by me
and I always explain what it does, PROS, CONS, everything. The people have
a
choice, I always ensure they knowing what they're doing, and my advices
work!
But okey... ¿Microsoft and Flash posts? (Oh yeah, this is because of the
Cristoph guy...)
Well, my "Windows 7 post" was created because I tought some fedora users
with VM's might be
interested in knowing how to tweak the horrible appereance of seven in their
VM's, because
THERE ARE Fedora users with Windows 7 in their VM's, I'm one of them.
Flash posts? Of course I make flash posts... Any "Normal user", no matter
what platform they use,
USE FLASH you know? Sorry, but "Gnash" it's not mature enough... I just want
to say, Why would
I advice my users to use something that don't fit their needs because it's
"more free" than other alternative?
People have CHOICE, and that's why they use Linux, Windows, MacOS, or don't
know, they wear jeans some days...
I don't want to be a Fedora Ambassador if it means "become intolerant and a
radical fanatic of free software, telling people
to avoid using their choice right"...
Some people talk about Linux trolls, communty segmentation, Hate Between
users, but if I came to Fedora
is because I tought here, the thing would be different that the way the
world is used to see Linux communities...
I'm kinda dissapointed with what I found... I use Linux because I love
freedom and of course free software,
But freedom isn't about telling people what to do in their own benefit
(example use Linux instead of Windows, because last one is crap
or: Linux User, Use Gnash because Flash and Adobe are enemies of our
philosophy) Freedom, for me, is about having a Choice of do with
your life whatever you want watching not to hurt other's freedom...
Thinking of Freedom like "Using only Free software and avoiding talking
about our enemies" as some people
like stallman does, is kinda fascist. As I said in other mail to the
Cristoph guy:
it's like criticizing a gay couple with children because they're different
than your family or
not talking/talking bad things about someone just because he/she do not has
your same religious beliefs and
you think you're right and he/she is not. In the moment you attack other
people because of the choices they made
or even if you get angry because of that, it doesn't matter how "free" your
cause is, because, due to your radicalism
you're shrinking people's freedom without even realizing it.
Fascism has drove humankind to their darkest hours in their history, with
characters like Hitler. Respect the
lifes of other members and having a little more open mind would be the first
principle/rule of ANY Linux Community,
Because Linux is about REAL FREEDOM, Not the definition of Freedon that a
little group of radical people have...
I'm not going to be a Fedora Ambassador to tell the people to shrink their
freedom.
I WANT to be a Fedora Ambassador to tell them, "You have Choice, Use Linux
and Fedora"...
What is happening here with me, it's kinda unfair, but not going to argue
with people that
don't even Know me...
Have a Nice Day.
P.S. Yep, Maria Told me, I Tried to delete the post from the planet but I
wasn't able
to do That... Nobody told me how to do that, cristoph guy and now you just
sat on their chairs
and start throwing this crap at me...
All this "filth" is coming to me in hard times in my life right now, many
bad luck and problems
lately, I don't even want to fight you anymore... GoodBye.

F14 media - last orders
by Christoph Wickert
Last orders please...
If you need F14 media for an event in EMEA, you should order them ASAP!
I have finished the primary distribution to the anchor points in Belgium
(Bert), Greece (Pierros) and Hungary (Zoltan) and only have 390 media
left. A good amount of them are needed for Linuxtag in May, so actually
left over are about 150 I'd say.
If you NEED media, please and assign it either to me or one of the
anchor people. Look at
If you HAVE media, please make sure to update the inventory so people
know they can get them from you.
