Hi,
This mail was lost somehow in my inbox, sorry for the late reply.
Yes, I received the same email and I signed us up back then. I'm +1 to
organize a bigger and more official social event this year on Saturday
(like many other communities do during FOSDEM), but because usually Red
Hatters at FOSDEM do something on their own, I don't believe that many
people will attend. For those who haven't been to FOSDEM, usually on
Saturdays we organize a community dinner with Fedora contributors.
However, I'd like us to try and have a release party this year at our
booth during FOSDEM. OpenSUSE did something similar this year at FrOSCon
in August, they informed the people who were passing by their booth
about the party and the time, and in the afternoon they cut a cake
"celebrating" the new release. They also did a draw during the party
among the participants, and a few winners won some special swag. Overall
it was very successful and got very crowded at the end. I liked the idea
a lot, and I'd like us to organize some sort of social event/gathering
with the attendees at the booth. Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Zach
