Hello everyone!
I'm writing to the list to introduce myself as well as to talk about an
important opportunity for the FLOSS ecosystem in general (and to some
degree to Fedora itself).
I've asked to join the Fedora Ambassador group in the hope to be
helpful, and there is not much else I can say other than that I'm
really, really happy to be part of the family.
In my daily life I work on Free Software, both as a developer and doing
consulting services for small to medium sizes companies in the area
where I live (Salerno, Italy), just as I think many of you do too in
their daily jobs.
On 15 June (this Friday already!), I have to give a presentation of a
new Regional Law that pushes the use of FLOSS/Open Standards in the
Public Administration. This is the work of years and many finally
arriving to an end and I'm very proud of that too.
I would like to go to the talk not "only" as a member of the local LUG
and part of the organizations behind this Law, but also as an official
Fedora Ambassador, if you think it is the case.
I'll write down a summary of this meeting and the text of the Law itself
(but I'm not a lawyer, so the English translation may not be accurate
and will be for your interest only).
Any questions welcomed!
Mario
Thank you Mario. I'll make sure to submit your Event Report to FWN.
