Hello people,
IMHO the easiest way should be asking the team where the person asking for funding works.
If it's a contributor, it should work with a team, and they should be able to say if
it's active and how much time have working in the team.
The council is also
trying to help all groups/sigs in Fedora realize that funding is available for their
projects too. This could include speaker funding.
The ambassadors need to figure out where they want to be involved. If you want to have
these requests sent to you so you can piggy-back on this for greater
marketing/ambassadorial outreach then you have to create an open and approachable process
that encourages collaboration. The process today is viewed by many non-ambassadors as a
clubhouse that says "ambassadors only" on the door.
Let's open that door up to reflect reality with better messaging and transparency.
I know that EMEA has funded non-ambassadors recently. Let's shout that from the
community blog and in other places and get that message heard.
