Does it matter?
1) su is not supposed to change your $PATH at all, so it works perfectly
fine
2) you should always use su -, or rather, su --login

3) Nothing in the /sbin should be run as a user anyway
It's (3) that's the matter of contention. *Some* folks (not me) disagree.
