nowhere is written that you have to be Ambassador for doing a release party.
I agree that isn't a requirement but it doesn't matter. This is
ambassador work largely done by ambassadors regardless and more
importantly it is perceived to be that. I long for the day when I no
longer hear from others how the ambassadors spend Fedora's funds on
themselves. I just want to spread the love here. Let's include others.
You definitly volunteered with this mail to organize one as you said
is not
much work. But that cant be true when I look here there was no party in NA
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/F18_release_events#NA
The fact that no one in NA bothers any more with release parties that
aren't well attended doesn't mean running one is difficult. And I
don't dispute that some folks put on spectacularly great release
parties and work very hard doing so. But seriously when you compare
that effort with the effort to organize a FUDCon or FLISOL or just
about any other event Fedora attends it pales in comparison. Yet we
don't give stuff to those people. When we compare the effort to
organize a two or three hour long party to the effort many make all
year long doing work week in and week out without any thanks it pales
in comparison.
