"I got started with Fedora, and I would love to become an
ambassador. I completely understand the process of becoming an
ambassador, so around 6 months ago or so I attempted to start the
process by getting a mentor. I was very upset in that I found it
impossible to find one. I could understand that if I was new and
excited about Linux I might be underqualified and trying to get
involved in everything before understanding the work involved, and
therefore no mentors would want to mentor me, however I feel I have
made a clear contribution to both Ubuntu and Fedora among others, and
have for over a year. I'm not saying, either, that I would make the
cut and become an ambassador, but I wish it was easier to find a
mentor so I could start the process. With all of this being said, I
can sum it up in one request:
I think kital can weigh in on this better but I think the present
process "requires" the applicant to make the first move on their
application process. This serves as a concrete demonstration of
interest. I'm sure we can tweak the process here and there.
I would like to become an ambassador for the Fedora linux
distribution. If anyone would be willing to mentor me, I would very
much appreciate it. :-)
Thanks, guys, for everything that you do.
Bryan"
As a Mentor for North America I will gladly mentor you please see the
following urls:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Joining_Ambassadors
now i had several people contact me about being a mentor then I would email
and I would never hear from them again
please contact me through the email on the mentor page.
Same case with me. After giving them a list of required tasks, they
drop like flies.
