I only tried to point out where problems could appear. From my point of
view it's worth a try. If tagging would work I'd reference to the
ambassadors-list as positive example in all mailing lists I'm subscribed
to! :)

Yeah, we wouldn't have to enforce the tag usage. But if few starts using them, it
could lead to better organization.
I also feel very frustrated while reading the FUDCON mailing list. Here would be an other
perfect example. (filtering "APAC" or "ZURICH" for example in the
whole message is not really useful.)
That's not because we start filtering (in our own inboxes) the ambassador mailing list
that we will read only what refers to our country. That's just really easier then to
find a specific email, follow a thread etc.
