Truong you are indeed a valued Ambassador and a you can be - right at
this moment - a great mentor. As i wrote so many times before, nobody
who is already a Ambassador and is gone through mentoring himself, needs
to become a "official mentor" i expect that we all try to be good mentors.
One purpose of the Ambassadors Program is to mentor people into the
Fedora Project - into all areas, not preferred Ambassadors only.
As a Ambassador you are already a official spokesperson for the Fedora
Project - just learn to use that power.
I ask myself if it was right to initiate the mentors program.
Imagine if we had a mentor for every country -
<irony> why not make them the fedora project country leaders in the next
step and then the next level would be the mentors steering commitee? Or
let´s abandon Ambassadors and start all new and let us all call mentors
...</irony>
I always believed and i am pretty sure about that the Ambassadors are
more than just "marketing-helpers" - let´s remember the first phrases of
the join process
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Ambassadors_Join_start
I do not see the listed mentors as a large scaled group, they are
primarily helpers for regions where Ambassadors are not visible enough
to help and for people who have not a single person or connection into
the Fedora Project and want a start. I do not have the impression the
the APAC mentors are overworked with candidates and as long they do not
request reinforcement i do not see a reason to list more.
