No problem, git can be hard to learn.
Please, could you point me to an easy tutorial on how to do this?
I see in your patch file this command:
The routine would be:
* edit the files that need editing
* git add the changed files
* git commit -m "Commit message"
* git log/git log -p to review the commits
* git format-patch -1 (or hash-id) to produce a git-formatted patch
