Hi,
Fedora 19 Schrödinger's Cat is coming nearer and it's about time to
start planning F19 release parties which are a great opportunity to
introduce the new features to users and spread the word about Fedora.
To register a release party, follow these steps:
1. Start by creating a wiki page. IT should be named
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Release_Party_F19_<your_city>
2. Add {{subst:ReleaseParty}} at the top of the page and save it.
3. Fill in the details
4. Add your page to
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/F19_release_events
5. Congrats, you made it! Now you only need to do the event
itself ;)
Of course, Fedora Project would like to support your effort as much as
possible. Ask in your regional community what are swag and funding
options and file a request.
* Budget & Swag: file a ticket for
* APAC at
https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-apac/
* EMEA at
https://fedorahosted.org/emea-swag-tracking/
* NA at
https://fedorahosted.org/famnarequests/
* LATAM:
https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-latam/
* Design stuff: file a ticket at
https://fedorahosted.org/design-team/ *and* contact the design
team via their mailing list at
design-team at
lists.fedoraproject.org
This time, there is no deadline for registering a release party. Just
bear in mind that you should register yours early enough to receive swag
etc. and all supported parties should take place within a month after
the release when the new Fedora is still fresh ;)
When picking a date, take in consideration that producing media and
delivering them to you usually doesn't take less than 2 weeks and ISOs
are usually available right before the release date. But discuss this
more in detail in your region since it's very region-specific.
Hope release parties will start popping up around the world soon ;)
Jiri
