I am surprised that the Monthly Fedora meet-up at Bangalore is now quite
regularly being held at a Starbucks Coffee outlet. Fedora activities at
college campuses I can understand, and should be encouraged, but why
Starbucks ?!
We used to have the Monthly Fedora meet-up much earlier being held at
the Red Hat Bangalore office, with free coffee/tea, free snacks, and
free WiFi always available. I think we could have the meet-up at the Red
Hat Bangalore office at least once in two months.
Red Hat being the sponsor of Fedora, it would be good to utilize the
facilities of Red Hat for Fedora activities, especially when there is no
good reason to have it done elsewhere.
The meetups should not be centralized to a single location like Red
Hat as there are people coming from various parts of the city. It's
good to move the meetup around the city.
As the crowd was low and the mainly concentrated in Koramangala and
Indiranagar, we chose meetup location in either of these two places
and not only Starbucks. I remember doing it in Hasgeek and HackerEarth
office couple of times. One of reason of choosing Starbucks was to
keep the meetups informal.
