On Saturday, April 24th, I attended FLISoL of Santo André – SP Brazil.
Just as I thought were very nice, with that Free Software atmosphere,
ie the crowd engaged, participating from the reception of the people,
lectures, Install Fest and the setup of event which had the
cooperation of all engaged with the event, and the Central Casa Branca
High School, SINDSERV (Santo André Union), NET (Cable and Internet
Provider), Linux Magazine Brazil and Techouse (local computer dealer).
Distributions Linux represented at the event were Debian, Ubuntu and
Fedora. I and liquuid (Fernando Silva), we did Install Fest
representing along with Fedora. For logistical reasons, we did buy and
burn the CDs we was used and distributed of Fedora 12 Live.
During FLISoL we met several people with doubts about GNU / Linux,
Fedora and Free Software. I've installed Fedora 12 in the computer of
Osvaldo, a student of Computer Science Uniabc , 27 years old, who came
from Maua- SP to attend the event.
I do saw great friends, new colleagues and I thought I have conveyed
my enthusiasm with GNU / Linux that is with me since 1999. Saturday
was a very nice, get out of there refreshed and happy with the result.
A big hug to everyone who helped and everyone who attended.
