Hello,
So far Red Hat has been a sponsor at an yearly 'Rootconf' conference in Bangalore, India.But this year they could not accommodate it into budget.
Please see:
We(Fedora) has an allocated ~300/- USD budget for this event.
-> https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FAD_Singapore_2015/Events
I spoke to the event organizers for having a Fedora booth at Rootconf, they are looking for about Rs 50,000/-(=~ 750 USD) for a booth. This means, we _may not_ have budget for any travel subsidies for attendees.
I was wondering if it'd be possible for us to raise our allocated(USD 300/-) budget by some margin? Maybe around ~500 USD?
I'm negotiating with the organizers and also trying to find out if we could raise the balance amount in anyway.
We need confirmations from APAC(non-India) ambassadors to raise our allocated Fedora budget for the Rootconf 2016.
If it's okay with you, please vote for the same here.
Thank you.

Commented on ticket. Repeating here. We had allocated $3000 for BarCamp Yangon 2016 https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BarCamp_Yangon_2016 but we have spent only 1210. +1 for using remaining budget for Rootconf.

How would the booth help the project? Or, in other words, if the booth isn't possible (hypothetically), what are the ways to evangelize Fedora and sub projects of interest to the conference participants?

Please dont mix up things. The allocated budget for this event as well the Indonesian Meetup which never happend came out of last years budget. Its just written in the budget plan for this year as we made the decision to use the leftovers for exactly this.
Btw since the FAD there is an action item open, for someone to clearify what was left. It never was done. We just estimated rough, what should be left, but never had a clear view.
