For example: I am trying to find a company that will make 300 copies of Fedora5 to give away at 2 different events. I have spent 4 hours with search engine and the yellow pages with one possible candidate. I have emailed them. This is in the Greater Cincinnati Region 2 Mil.+ pop. Such places may be common in other areas, but not here. I may end up going to someone on the web. I have gotten that suggestion from one place I talked to. Hi, I am pleased to announce that tomorrow I will have a speech (maybe more than one) in my school. The topics will be generally about Open Source, Fedora Project and also a little bit of a commercial Open Source aspect. I am just going to finish reading my mailbox and for printing some leaflets to post up it on the schools bulletin-board. I hope I will convince some people to try Fedora. Unfortunately, I will not have any DVDs containting Fedora Core, but I will offer downloading and burning on somebody's DVD - oh I have just figured out a great idea! - I will have a Fedora ISO image and if someone will wanna try Fedora, I will be able to burn it just after a speech ;) I will report you as it went tomorrow :) Regards, Pawel Sadowski

All, This is my first time writing to the group as I just joined a few days ago. Mr. Chung was very patient in helping me get started. So, I want to thank him again! I am a network administrator and systems security analyst. My company's major clients are big government organizations. My goal in joining the group is to gain as much information as I can to help spread the word about Fedora in particular and open source in general to the clients I work with. My clients are rapidly adopting open source as a viable alternative to expensive closed-source platforms. But, much ground still needs to be covered. Also, I work on the side doing small business network installs. Up until about 5 years ago, I only installed MS products, but now ALL I offer to work with is Fedora-based solutions. I'm hesitant to take on a new client if they aren't willing to give Fedora a fair try. So, that's pretty much it in a nutshell. Thank you for allowing me to join this very exciting team. I look forward to contributing any way I can! Cheers!

Dear *, I know I am not often on the list neither on the IRC but : - talk about Fedora and Linux to people - go to Linux events. - convince managers, and IT staff - explain my experiences with Open Source. - explain what is Fedora and how to use it to students. - do not loose good friendly relations to people who are part of the project - and so on... takes time. And I am pretty sure you know what I mean. However and you are right. You have to know what have been done. For instance today, I went to the HP Linux and Open Source roadshow EMEA in Brussel. I met people who are members of the Fedora project community -development part - who did not know a Fedora Community was present physically in Belgium. So I just invited them to join to the Community in our country. Cause electronique communication tools have their limitations. You know what I mean. It is more funny to chat, to share you experiences when you are phystically together than via network. I am pretty sure you agree with me. Even if it is working well via network. I met the Red Hat Regional Manager which help me to know belgian people are working on the Fedora Project. And then she have a point of contact with the Fedora Community of her country. We share experiences and so on... I met the manager of a Univesity and tell her that the Fedora Community could help her to organize Linux events for students. So on and so for..... It is just a win-win situation for Fedora, the Open Source community, Red Hat and myself. I beleive that I will stop for today cause I will risk to write a Linux novel "not novell :)". Rem : I have to recontact other Belgian Ambassadors. See you soon friends. If you have any remarks, questions, suggestions feel free to contact me. P.S. Hi all, I have an idea, maybe a little bit crazy, but after a while of thinking, I will post it here ;) Maybe we could run on the Fedora Project's pages somethink as Red Hat runs. I mean our own blogs, so every Ambassador and Project participant could write what is going on.
