In SSSD, we're planning to carry it in any forthcoming release of the
1.5.x line or later. The patch I rolled into those test builds is
currently going through code review.
I opened a Bugzilla bug for the issue:

Keep an eye there for when Red Hat will ship a supported set of RPMs
that addresses this issue.
