What should I do to fix it?
1) Set proper global git config with the right name. See
http://git-scm.com/book/en/v2/Getting-Started-First-Time-Git-Setup
part "Your Identity".
2) This only applies for new commits. To change existing ones, you would need
to do sed s/old-mail/new-mail/ on the patches and re-import them to git or do
some git magic like in section "Changing E-Mail Addresses Globally" in
http://git-scm.com/book/en/v2/Git-Tools-Rewriting-History
I do not know some more convenient way, I mostly only need to do it for the
last commit, in which case 'git commit --amend --author "new author"' is
enough.
