I will defer to Debarshi on this, since I think he was hoping to remove
IRC from g-o-a anyway....
Keep in mind this affects more than IRC, but also the dozen other
protocols supported by Telepathy, most importantly SIP and XMPP. Also,
Google Chat.

I've taken a glance at the code involved ; it sounds like you're talking
about the removal of the entire 'chat' category for accounts from goa. Is
this the case, Debarshi?
I would personally be disappointed to see that go away, as a user of the
protocols, because IRC is Fedora's interactive support venue, and because I
think XMPP has value as a federated communication mechanism that deserves
more prevalence.
