Default partitions
by Javier Prats
Hello all,
I'm new to Fedora development and was wondering if this is the correct
list to discuss the default partition scheme. If not could someone
please point me in the right direction?

laughlin-backgrounds-gnome size increase
by Jesse Keating
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
With the latest version of l-b-g, the "time of day" backgrounds were
added to the -gnome subpackage. This ballooned the package by 20+megs
and has caused some of the live images to overflow. Previously none of
the actual background files were in -gnome and I'm curious why the
change was made at this point, particularly when in previous releases
there were no images in the -gnome subpackage.
Care to shed some light?

Spin status broffice and Desktop had status change
by Bruno Wolff III
The Desktop spin jumped about 200MB in size a few days ago. Can someone
update me on whether Desktop is targeting a CD or something else this
time around? If the target is 1GB now, then things are OK.
BrOffice stopped building a few days ago with an issue with a ks reference
not being found. This doesn't appear to be from the recent BrOffice commit,
but I am not sure yet what changed to cause the problem.
The other spins are all building OK.
I haven't heard that Meego has officially been granted board approval,
but am expecting that soon.

Thanks to Martin Sourada
by Bruno Wolff III
While there is still a bit of cleanup work to do, I feel it is appropriate
to thank Martin now. After a desktop package unexpectedly caused some
problems for some spins Martin was very helpful by both being willing
to adjust the Desktop Team's requirements and work on the weekend to
get things fixed up again.
Thanks Martin!

perl rears its ugly head again
by Peter Robinson
Hi All,
Having thought we'd finally got rid of perl from the desktop (and
sugar and meego) spin it seems it rears its ugly head again through of
all things the fedora-logos package. I have no idea why logos needs
scripts which in turn pulls in a multitude of packages but I thought
I'd give you all a heads up.

alert: no desktop effects by default in F14
by Adam Williamson
Hey, desktop folks. I filed this bug last week:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=638276
I expected it'd be fixed quickly but nothing's happened so I thought I'd
better drop a note. Due to various messing around in comps to do with
GNOME 3.0, it's wound up a state where at present neither gnome-shell or
compiz-gnome is listed as default in comps, so there's no desktop
effects at all by default in F14 composes; this differs from previous
releases. I think the obvious fix is to put compiz-gnome back in comps
until F15 / GNOME 3.
