[wayland] Applications are unable to grab input
by Christian Stadelmann
One main difference between x11 and wayland is that in x11 all applications receive all input whereas in wayland the compositor receives input and decides which application may receive it.
This causes a major issue with application which need input grab for running or showing a nested desktop. This affects e.g. GUI virtual machines (SPICE clients), RDP clients, VNC clients, nested kwin/gnome-shell/whatever. See also: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1285770 . Games might also be affected, I don't know.
I'm posting this here to raise attention because
1. to fix this we need another protocol (extension)
2. this issue can't be fixed in a single application, it needs the whole stack (wayland library, compositors, affected applications) to change
Compared to the other bugs in "WaylandRelated" lists [1] [2], these bugs need architecture design, not just fixing bugs in one package.
I don't know whether this mailing list is the right place to discuss an issue like this. If you know better, please tell me.

Workstation WG call for agenda 2016-Dec-05
by Paul W. Frields
**NOTE** We will move our meeting to 9:00am US Eastern time (that's
1400 UTC) Monday, 2016-Dec-05.
Below are current agenda items I know about. Corrections and
additions are welcome; please send them by Sunday evening. In the
future I plan to get this agenda out on Wednesday evening before the
meeting, with agenda items due by Friday night.
* Branding -- cschaller
* Christian was to have a proposal ready to walk the WG through and
start gathering input. Does this exist yet on the wiki?
* coredumpctl -- mcatanzaro
* Michael did a Change page for F26. Let's make sure we know what
the next steps are so it gets picked up by the wrangler/FESCo, and
plan developer contact as needed.

About Nautilus automatic-decompression default
by Robert Marcano
Any opinions on the Nautilus automatic decompression behavior?
decompressing all archives by default when you only want to open a file
inside of it, Making people by mistake extract the archive multiple
times every time they open it?
I noticed by mistake the new change when I opened Zip file and noticed
no changes (didn't noticed the folder was already extracted every time I
tried) and got a folder full of garbage temporary extractions.

Meeting help needed
by Paul W. Frields
I proposed in the last meeting that we do the following for upcoming
holiday schedule:
* Meet on Monday 2016-Dec-19 at 1400 UTC (9:00am EST) as usual.
* I need a substitute chair for this meeting, as I'll be on vacation
at that time.
* Cancel the Monday 2016-Jan-02 meeting since many people will be on
observed holiday for the New Year. Resume 2016-Jan-16 as usual.
Any takers for chair, and/or objections to this schedule?

Fwd: Fedora services integration on Gnome shell?
by Matthew Miller
Especially now that Fedora is using Kerberos for authentication, I'd
really love to see Fedora Account System in GOA. Is anyone interested
in working on this?
