3.9.92 - Gnome shell screen casts limited to 30 seconds?

Hi, https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=708660 ^ tells me that screen casts using the default gnome-shell recorder are limited to 30 seconds? What purpose does this change serve? GNOME development group updates in comps

Hey, I've updated the comps file in Fedora 20 to be more useful to application developers, and bug reporters alike. This makes "yum install @gnome-software-development" install: - Command-line utilities like diffstat, valgrind, gdb - GNOME developer tools like gitg, gtkparasite - Additional libraries like clutter-gst-devel, polkit-devel - And devel docs for GStreamer, webkit, glib and clutter Please take a look over the comps-f20.xml file in: https://git.fedorahosted.org/cgit/comps.git/ And let us know if, as GNOME/Fedora developers, there's anything else that ought to be installed by default for budding developers. Not that this is for application development, not GNOME development itself, so things like totem-pl-parser, grilo, or gnome-online-accounts' devel packages are getting dragged in. Those should be pulled by "yum-builddep" instead, when you hack on a particular package. Cheers

Different Backgrounds for the Lock Screen vs the desktop

The new GNOME shipped with fedora 20 has the awesome new ability to set different backgrounds for both the lock screen/shield and the normal regular desktop background. Currently in f20 alpha TC4, we set the old f19 default background for the desktop, and a completely different pink, fan style design for the lock screen. IMHO, the defaults should behave the same as the f19, setting the default background for both. thoughts? cheers, ryanlerch

Hi guys! I just installed F20 to help with QA and Gnome3.9 is awesome! Thanks for getting it updated. I notice a few changes, and therefore have a few questions: - How would one disable the notifications from the status menu and change the empathy/online status? 3.8 used to disable notifications and change status to "busy". It's really useful when you're trying to work. - What versions would the suspend fix come in? http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=705647 - How would one set alt to meta in the up to date gnome terminal? I can't find anything in the preferences/profiles. GNOME 3.9.91 megaupdate

Hi all, It's that time of the year again -- F20 is going into the Alpha freeze tomorrow and new builds will have to go through Bodhi for verification. The GNOME 3.9.91 release is coming as well, with a bit unfortunate timing wrt. Fedora freezes. In any case, we'll handle the GNOME 3.9.91 builds together and file them as a single megaupdate in Bodhi. There's a separate koji build target for the 3.9.91 builds and the magical invocation is 'fedpkg build --target f20-gnome'. We're also going to use the same spreadsheet system as previously, so if you want builds to be included in the megaupdate, 1) use the f20-gnome build target, and 2) list the builds in https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtzJKpbiGX1zdGJzeU9waFJFZmgyQz… Thanks! -- Kalev

desktop spin alpha readiness

Hey, as every cycle, we have a size problem with the desktop spin: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1000893 So, we need to do the usual excercise and cut stuff until it fits. In addition to that, we will have a new application installer in F20 ( https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/AppInstaller ), which will allow us to properly present and feature applications that are not yet installed. For that reason, the designers working on the app installer, Ryan Lerch and Allan Day, have proposed that we don't install transmission, simple-scan and gnome-photos by default anymore, and instead feature them prominently in the app installer. Unless there's strong opposition, I'll drop those three from the kickstart file, and we can reevaluate the size issue on Monday.
