It moved to the message tray menu. (The icon in the left side when you
open the message tray).
Hrm. I already tried that. Clicking it gives me two options:
- Clear messages; and
- Notification settings.
I can open notification settings and switch off "show pop up banners",
but there isn't a switch.

It is already there ... hold down alt while the menu is open and the
power off icon will change to a pause icon (which suspends your
computer).
Ah! I forgot about "Alt"!
