Just to follow-up a bit on this thread in general. Wim Taymans was assigned to
work on it, but simply has not found time to do so. So what I am pursuing currently
is have Centriclular (
http://www.centricular.com/) do the work for us, just need to
shake enough piggybanks first to make it happen :)
As for AAC audio, yes that is a problem, but a lot of Webm files for instance use
H264+Vorbis afaik. But I am looking into what can be done with AAC support too going
forward.
